1. Name of domain or website name
2. Logo, slogan, company identity, own style
3. Structure (full tree) of main menu
4. Structure of the splash/first page. I.E. all info, blocks, links, ads, services
5. Competitor's sites.
6. Sites which the customer likes.
7. Any desires for design.
As a rule this list is sufficient to start for majority of projects.
